Synopsis:

Footsteps in the attic. Toys that play by themselves. A dark presence in an upstairs room.

Paranormal investigator Ellie Jordan faces a difficult new case. Her new clients are a family haunted by multiple ghosts and a poltergeist that wrecks their home at night. Their seven-year-old son’s invisible friends may not be imaginary at all, but the restless spirits of dead children.

To clear her clients’ house of the dangerous entities, Ellie must unravel the mysterious deaths of another family who lived in the old mansion more than a hundred and sixty years ago—and she must do it before the ghosts can carry out their malevolent designs on her clients and their children.

My rating: ★★★★★

On this next case, Ellie and her team investigate a possible haunting that probably involves multiple ghosts... a family of ghosts, perhaps. The family living in the house includes a teenage girl who is in the rebellious stages and they think she might have a poltergeist attached to her. There is also a little boy who has two imaginary friends who might not be so imaginary after all. Plus, there is one more sinister presence who seems to be controlling the rest of the spirits. With the help of her assistant Stacey and the psychic Jacob, Ellie helps this family rid their home of these ghosts and find the peace they desire... but no one said it was going to be easy...

I love ghost stories and this book was pure awesome! Not only do I love the characters the author has created and the Ghost Hunters-esque feel to the series, but the mystery in this particular book was amazing! Finding out what happened to all the ghosts that haunted this house... it was crazy! I never would have guessed on my own how these ghosts died. I was pleasantly surprised by their whole story, though it was kind of tragic. Speaking of tragic, the little boys's imaginary friends... holy crap! I nearly had a heart attack during two particular parts where his life was put in grave danger. I was cringing so hard! Especially because it hit close to home, me having two little brothers close to his age.

Anyway, I loved this book! The story was so well thought out and so very intriguing with a lot of ghostly action... it was just great! I love Ellie and Stacey and Jacob, and I especially hope to see more of him in the future ;) I can't wait for the next book in the series! It's so great! :D
